Year: 2005-December 2006
A new build private house overlooking a large pond and bird sanctuary.
The design of the building has been strongly influenced by contemporary Malaysian architecture along with the steeply slope sight with large pond at the base. The building has been designed to sit comfortably within the steep slope creating the entrance and living accommodation at the higher level and steeping down to the lower level providing the bedrooms and pool. At the higher level views from the rear of the property look over the established pond but at the lower level you are at the water level. The large roof derived from the notion of a bird's wing; constructed of exposed glue-laminated timber rafters with a slate roof create large overhangs allowing use of the external terraces throughout the year.
